Helpful Tips...

1. If you wear a headset, the smaller the headset, the better.
2. Be more or less like a news anchor: Sit up straight, smile, try not to seem vacuous.
3. Easy on the stripes. Striped clothing can create a "strobing" effect for the person on the other end.
4. Jokes are about 30 percent less funny while videoconferencing.
5. Remember that, even if you are not talking, you can still be seen. (No yawning, eye-rolls, or personal grooming.)
6. Don't put your head in your hands. Or on your desk. Or between your knees.
7. Eating is prohibited.
8. Gum chewing is prohibited.
9. Smoking is prohibited. Unless you're videoconferencing with a French candidate. In which case, it's encouraged.
10. And even if you don't think you need to, always wear pants.
